Revolution and rebellion were in the air in Europe in 1848. In the midst of the Irish Potato Famine came a failed Irish nationalist uprising frequently called the Young Irelanders Rebellion or alternatively the Famine Rebellion or the Battle of Widow McCormack’s Cabbage Patch. A quick synopsis:

We used this rebellion to talk a bit more about the Great Hunger/Irish Potato Famine–and about the revolutions that occurred across Europe in 1848.
